What is your top five movies/films of all time?

Picking your top five is near impossible but here are mine:
    1.The matrix (part two)
    2.War of the worlds
    3.Back to the future
    4.Star wars
    5.Terminator

This is a toughie..but I'm going to give it my best shot.
    5. Hellboy 2
    4. Iron Man
    3. Spider-Man 2
    2. Jurassic Park
    1. Star Trek (2009)

...yeah, I like comic-book movies.  It was tricky narrowing it down to those three!  But Star Trek and Jurassic Park are my all-time favs.

It's a Wonderful Life; The Big Sleep; Red Dust; Stalag 17; Vertigo.

But I'm sure I could plug in ten more "top five" just as easily! These are the first I could think of.

WOW! The fact that these five films are the first you can think of speaks volumes about you! Stalag 17 and Vertigo alone are amazing, and if you asked 100 people about those films only a handful would probably know what they are. Great list!

Amazing list! These are all on my favorite films of all time list, except Gattaca. I never seen Gattaca in its entirety, so it could make it eventually; however, the others are in my library of films.

The first time I saw Gattaca was in 10th grade biology, so of course I expected it to be some boring educational movie, but I loved it! Definitely watch the whole thing when you get a chance!

Well, it's tougher than it sounds actually.  Mine would have to be:

    1. The Lord of the Rings - The complete trilogy has to be counted as one, since none can survive alone without the rest of the story.

    2. The Empire Strikes Back - Sorry, this movie can and always will stand alone as the best of the Star Wars sextology (is that a word?)

    3. The Princess Bride - Can you name another fantasy based romantic comedy that's as quotable?  Inconceivable!

    4. Raiders of the Lost Ark - Indiana Jones, Nazis, an incredible artifact, impressive locales, dastardly villains and a feisty damsel in distress.  What more can you ask for?

    5. Spiderman II - Arguably one of the best conceived, written, acted and directed superhero movies of the last two decades (although The Dark Knight came awfully close)

In no particular order:  Gone With the Wind;  Sound of Music;  Romeo and Juliet (Zeffirelli and Luhrmann);  Sleeping Beauty;  Fantasia  (I am sure there are many others on my list but these are the movies that sprang to mind!)

Well, let's see.  I LOVE movies so this is tough!

    1.  Courageous (well . . . all the Sherwood Pictures movies)

The above takes care of the top four, but I'll give you four more anyway.

    2.  Top Gun
    3.  Titanic
    4.  Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
    5.  Remember the Titans

Those might not even be my top 5, but they are the ones that come to mind . . . today.  smile
