   Should Glasgow Rangers FC join the English premier league?
   
   From what I have read and watched on TV it seems Glasgow rangers have been voted out of the SPL by a majority vote from the other clubs, in my opinion this seems like a very bad move by the SPL as Rangers are one if not thee biggest clubs in the league and this will effect TV revenue for all the clubs  and from what I have seen on TV tonight there are going to be playing in the bottom Scottish league next season.
   It's been talked about in the past the pros and cons of Celtic or Rangers joining the English premier league but in my opinion the pros must be more appealing now, what do you think?

   Nah. They'd probably have to start from the very bottom, that could be regional leagues, and in what region of England would you put a Scottish team? I'm sure national pride would be a factor in the decision if it ever came to serious consideration, which I doubt.

      They are going to be playing in the bottom Scottish league anyway but I think they could fit into the championship quite easily.

      Yes, but the Championship isn't bottom league, in fact it's not far off Premier league quality. If Rangers joined the English leagues, they would replace a team who had earned their place in the (promoted to) league, that would anger many fans.

   No, firstly rangers aren't good enough for the premier league nor is Celtic or hearts you can tell this buy the style of football they both play, the players they have and the massive fall in viewing of Scottish football. Celtic have just purchased Fraser Forster from my team Newcastle, the reason he went to Celtic and has been to other clubs on loan is because he is newcastles fourth choice keeper behind the likes of Timmy krul, harper and Rob Elliot. The best striker in the Scottish league was Kenny miller and he went to a championship side enough said. Any Scottish team would be lucky to make it into the championship never mind the premier league.

      I agree they are not premiership quality right now but they have a huge support equal to most of the English teams, the team would be able to attract a better quality of player being in the English premiership or even just in the English league.

   Tom: it wouldn't let me answer directly to your comment, I was referring to the quality of Rangers current squad I think they are championship quality.
   I agree they shouldn't replace a team in the championship but I can't see why they can't be placed in the championship as an extra team the championship play more games than the prem anyway.
   
   It seems to me like the SPL doesn't want Rangers in the league any more and I think Rangers would be a good addition to the English league and they would be able to progress to a higher standard being in the English league.

   the scottish third division is the equivalent of the 15th level of english football...thats about as high as they can start.....
